About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Technical Business Analyst to work for our client within the retail sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support the ongoing Demand Forecasting and Store Orders roadmap within their supply chain function. This is a hands-on analytical role supporting a live forecasting and store ordering platform, covering end-to-end investigation of complex problem tickets, analysis of emerging platform issues around areas such as effective dates, order accuracy and order usage, and maintaining an accurate view of platform reliability including volumetrics and batch timing. The role also supports emerging agentic AI initiatives across the estate. It suits someone who enjoys getting into the detail of how integrated systems actually behave, rather than purely gathering requirements for new change.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out end-to-end analysis on complex problem tickets, tracing issues across integrated systems to establish root cause and define resolution
  • Analyse and resolve emerging platform issues across areas such as effective dates, order accuracy and order usage, working with business and engineering teams to understand impact and options
  • Maintain an accurate view of platform reliability, including volumetrics and the batch timing diagram, identifying risks to processing windows and data quality
  • Interrogate data directly using SQL to investigate issues, validate hypotheses and support decision-making
  • Support agentic AI initiatives across the platform, helping define use cases, requirements and guardrails
  • Document data flows, interfaces and process behaviour to build and maintain a clear picture of the end-to-end demand forecasting and store ordering landscape
  • Work across business, product, engineering and architecture teams, translating technical findings into clear business impact and recommendations

About You

  • Minimum of 6 years' experience as a Technical Business Analyst within complex, integrated enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on SQL - able to write and run queries independently for investigation and root cause analysis
  • Demonstrable experience carrying out end-to-end analysis across multiple integrated systems
  • Understanding of batch processing, scheduling and data volumetrics, and the ability to reason about processing windows and dependencies
  • Experience documenting data flows, interfaces and integration behaviour
  • Comfortable working on a live platform alongside support, engineering and business teams
  • Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
  • Desirable: demand forecasting, replenishment or wider supply chain domain experience, ideally Blue Yonder; retail sector background; exposure to agentic AI or LLM-based tooling; experience with Jira and Confluence
