About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Case Writer / Project Manager to work for our client within the Public Sector sector. This is initially a 5 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role that can be based out of serveral office locations across the UK, with approximately one day per week in the office.

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Case Writer / Project Manager to support the development of a significant business case relating to the SPS programme and Biocides service. The initial focus will be on producing a robust Five Case Model business case that is ready for review, assurance and approval. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring an individual who can build on existing material, identify information gaps, work closely with stakeholders to develop the evidence base and produce the final case. There is also potential to continue supporting the programme in a project management capacity following the initial business case phase.

Responsibilities:

Lead the development and authoring of the SPS Biocides business case, ensuring alignment with the Five Case Model framework.
Define and validate the scope, case for change and transition requirements by working with programme stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Develop options appraisals, resource models and cost forecasts, assessing the impact on service delivery, workforce requirements and delivery risk.
Build the financial case, including funding requirements, cost recovery considerations, financial exposure analysis and value-for-money assessments.
Support review, assurance and governance activities by incorporating feedback, maintaining supporting evidence and preparing the business case for approval.

About You

Proven experience writing and delivering complex business cases using the HM Treasury Five Case Model or a comparable business case methodology.
Strong experience developing financial, resource and cost models in partnership with finance and operational stakeholders.
Demonstrable ability to analyse and interpret operational, performance, workforce and financial data to support investment decisions.
Experience working collaboratively with programme teams, finance professionals, economists and subject matter experts to develop evidence-based recommendations.
Desirable: Project management experience with the ability to support programme delivery beyond the business case development phase.
