About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Automation Test Manager to work for our client within the retail sector. This is initially a 12 -month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking an Automation Test Manager to own the test strategy end to end for a major supply chain transformation programme, migrating forecasting, replenishment and allocation onto a new cloud-based planning platform and replacing legacy technology. The programme involves significant integration work across data, supply chain and logistics systems, and runs for approximately two years through to a phased go-live. There is no existing test team in place, so this is a genuine opportunity to define the test strategy, build the automation framework and shape the team from a standing start, while remaining hands-on technically.

Responsibilities

Define and own the end-to-end test strategy across the programme, covering entry and exit criteria, phases, coverage and release readiness
Design, build and maintain the automation framework and write the automation scripts, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
Own the test environments process across the new planning platform and the shared warehouse management platform, including governing environment access and managing environment-related risk
Build and manage the test team from scratch, covering resourcing, onboarding and mentoring
Coordinate testing across multiple applications and integrations, managing defect resolution and release quality
Own test risk management and report on progress, coverage, quality and risk to programme stakeholders
Work closely with the end-to-end Test Manager and Supply Chain Test Manager to align with the wider test approach

About You

Minimum of 10 years' experience in test management within complex, integration-heavy enterprise programmes
Proven experience owning a test strategy end to end, including automation strategy
Hands-on automation engineering- able to design frameworks and write the scripts, not direct others to
Strong Java, AWS and Kubernetes experience
CI/CD pipeline integration and automated regression testing
Experience building and managing a test team from a standing start
Test environment management, including access governance across shared environments
Strong stakeholder management across architecture, engineering, product and third-party partners
Desirable: retail, supply chain or logistics domain experience; exposure to Blue Yonder, WMS or RMS; data platform testing such as Snowflake; ISTQB or equivalent certification
