About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Change Lead (Finance Operations) to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Cheshire.
 
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Change Lead to support the delivery of a finance transformation programme, with a focus on Financial Close and operational accounting processes. This role will act as a key bridge between the business and change delivery teams, ensuring that finance requirements are clearly defined, solutions are fit for purpose, and outcomes are successfully embedded into BAU.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Represent the Financial Close function across change programmes, engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements, ensuring proposed solutions are fit for purpose and implementable
  • Analyse and map complex data flows to maintain integrity of general ledger reporting and controls
  • Support the development of functional designs, process documentation, and user training materials
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation opportunities across finance processes and systems

About You

  • Strong understanding of financial services operations, particularly financial reporting and accounting processes
  • Proven experience delivering business change within finance transformation programmes
  • Ability to analyse complex data flows and implement process improvements and controls
  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders, presenting insights, and driving decision-making
  • Familiarity with finance systems, general ledger structures, and reporting environments
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; exposure to automation tools/platforms is beneficial
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in finance change / transformation roles
