About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to support a Systems Integrator / Consultancy client, playing a key role in stabilising and restructuring a complex transition programme.

The successful candidate will take ownership of a large, existing project plan that requires a full overhaul. This includes rebuilding an extensive schedule (circa 3000 lines), ensuring accuracy of dependencies, and establishing a clear, deliverable roadmap. This is a hands‑on planning role, ideally suited to someone with deep expertise in MS Project and experience working on large‑scale, complex programmes where planning has required remediation or complete rebuild. The initial engagement is expected to be three months, with a strong likelihood of extension. You will act as the central point of accountability for planning activities on behalf of the Systems Integrator, working closely with delivery teams, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure the programme plan is accurate, aligned, and supports successful delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of a large and complex transition plan and bringing it up to a highquality, deliverable standard
  • Rebuilding and restructuring an extensive schedule (~3000 lines) within MS Project
  • Reviewing, cleansing, and validating existing planning data, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Establishing a clear critical path, milestones, and sequencing logic
  • Working closely with stakeholders to validate timelines, dependencies, and delivery assumptions
  • Providing ongoing updates, tracking, and reporting against the plan
  • Identifying planning risks, gaps, and inconsistencies and driving resolution
  • Ensuring planning best practices and governance are applied consistently across the programme
  • Supporting delivery teams with accurate and actionable planning insights

About You

  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Planner on large, complex programmes
  • Strong handson expertise with MS Project (essential)
  • Demonstrated experience rebuilding or remediating largescale project plans
  • Experience working with highly detailed schedules (1000+ lines, ideally significantly more)
  • Strong understanding of dependencies, critical path analysis, and scheduling best practice
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to validate and refine planning inputs
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex datasets
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present planning information

Nice to Have

  • Experience working within a Systems Integrator or consultancy environment
  • Background in largescale transition, transformation, or infrastructure programmes
  • Exposure to complex, multiworkstream delivery environments
  • Understanding of PMO or project controls principles
